FAQ
The questions that come up in the first call anyway
Employment type, working model, language, AI, answered here, so the conversation can start with the interesting part.
01
Are you looking for a permanent role, or do you freelance?
Either works. I'm open to a full-time permanent role, to part-time, to project work on a freelance basis, and explicitly to the route that works most often in practice: run one project together as a freelancer, and if it fits, move into a permanent role. What matters to me is a long-term role in short-form and social video, not the biggest possible title.
02
Do you work remotely or on site?
I work 100 % remotely and the process is well drilled: clear briefings, clean file handovers, feedback given on the cut itself rather than in long meetings. I'm based in southern Germany on Central European Time, so I overlap with a full European working day and I'm reachable during normal hours.
03
What languages do you work in?
French is my mother tongue and my English is fluent, briefings, feedback rounds and day-to-day team work all run in English without friction. I also speak German at B2 level, which is solid enough for professional work with German-speaking clients. For international teams that's the useful part: three languages, one editor.
04
Isn't AI about to replace exactly what you do?
AI produces material, not videos. A model gives you shots, the selection, the rhythm, the dramatic build, the consistency across a whole film, the grade and the sound still happen in the edit. And that is precisely where purely generative results fall down: characters drift, the look jumps, the rhythm is off. AI hasn't made my work redundant, it has moved it, away from waiting for shoot days, towards selection, direction and quality control.
05
Can you work without AI?
Yes · that's the foundation, not the exception. More than seven years of conventional post: cutting live-action footage, building brand films, grading in DaVinci Resolve, mixing sound, building 3D product films in Blender. There are projects in the portfolio with no generative content at all, deliberately. Someone who can only prompt won't notice when a cut doesn't land.
06
How much experience do you have with KPIs and performance?
I build videos towards numbers, not just towards looking good: the hook in the first seconds, cutting rhythm tuned to watch time, on-screen text for silent playback, a clear path to the CTA. That includes variants for A/B tests, hook, voice-over, CTA, and sharpening things up against retention curves rather than taste. The campaign figures themselves sit with the clients; what I bring is the way of building that moves them.
