Video editor for Reels, TikToks, Shorts and ads.
I'm Lead AI Video Editor at werbevideo.ai (WILLIAMS Marketing GmbH), cutting Reels, TikToks, Shorts and paid ads for Meta, TikTok and YouTube every day. Before that, seven years in post for brands in Germany and abroad. This page covers what your job ad asks for, with examples for each point.

01 · Attention
Lose them in two seconds and the other twenty-eight never happen.
Six pieces, all built in 9:16 from the start. Hook inside the first two seconds, logo after. Captions are standard, because the feed plays muted. Cut frequency follows the retention curve: where viewers drop off, the opening gets swapped, the first frame changed or the whole cut shortened.

- Hook firstThe strongest shot goes first, even when the script puts it in the middle. Every concept ships with several openings to test.
- Sound offAnimated captions, type sizes that hold up, framing that stays readable on a phone in the underground.
- RetentionA pattern interrupt exactly where the curve dips: a cut, a push-in, a graphic beat. No dead air, no logo sitting on screen for three seconds.
- ShareabilityOne line, one image or one tip worth forwarding. That travels further than any effect.
02 · Native, not cropped
One concept, four formats, no cropping.
Squeezing a 16:9 master into a Reel costs media budget. The vertical version is its own edit: reframed, retimed, retyped. Feed, Story and YouTube come out of the same session. Safe areas, caption height and CTA timing are set per platform, not once for all of them.
9:16
TikTok, Reels, Shorts. The main edit, not an export preset.
4:5
Feed. Full height, without the caption cutting into the frame.
1:1
Carousel and catalogue, where square still works.
16:9
YouTube and website: longer cut, sound design, proper grade.
03 · Health & supplements
In health, trust sells, not effects.
Supplements are a regulated market, and the edit decides whether an ad clears review at all. So I stay with the wording marketing and legal signed off on, instead of building new promises in the timeline. Calm pacing, clean product shots and a benefit people can follow: that holds up longer than a wall of effects.
- On-screen text and captions match the approved copy. No health claims in the frame, no before/after implied by the cut or the grade.
- Testimonials and UGC cut so the person's statement stays intact. Disclosure and mandatory notices sit where they belong.
- Product front and centre: label readable, colours true, tub and powder lit so texture shows instead of blowing out.
- Learned in beauty and cosmetics: skin, liquids and warm light forgive nothing in the edit. Supplements are no different.
04 · Variants & KPIs
How a briefing moves through my week.
01
Ask up front
Read the brief once, end to end, then ask the two or three questions that otherwise cost a revision round: claim wording, mandatory copy, lead platform.
02
Rough cut early
Structure and opening go out for feedback before any polish. Feedback on a rough cut is cheap; feedback on a finished animation isn't.
03
Variants in batches
Hooks, cutdowns and platform versions out of one cleanly built project. The fifth variant then takes minutes, not an afternoon.
04
Numbers back into the edit
Hook rate, watch time, CTR and CPA decide what gets recut: new first frame, shorter version, different CTA. Exports come named per placement.
05 · Team & camera
I lead the edit team and shoot myself.
At werbevideo.ai I set the templates and naming conventions, review the other editors' cuts and bring juniors up to speed on hook logic, caption typography and export hygiene. I also shoot: one subject, two lights, one lav mic. That's the setup social content actually gets made with, and shooting yourself means you come back with the inserts you'd otherwise miss in the edit.
“Perfect. Fast, reliable, efficient. Highly recommended.”

07 · Quick answers
The questions that come up in the first call anyway.
- When are you available?
- Right away, full-time. Remote is how I already work. I'm based in Wolfratshausen near Munich, so CET hours and English or German day to day.
- Which software do you work in?
- DaVinci Resolve as my main tool, grading and mix included. After Effects for motion graphics, CapCut for quick versions, Blender for 3D. I'll pick up Premiere projects when that's what the team runs on.
- Which languages do you caption in?
- German, English and French. I write and type the captions myself, including multilingual versions of the same ad.

Send me footage and a deadline.
A reference list only proves the past. If you want to see how I'd handle your content: a folder of footage, a short brief, a deadline. You get the main cut plus several hooks back, and you're judging the work instead of the CV. Showreel, case studies and the vertical work are all on hervetailliez.de.
