# Hervé Tailliez · Video Editor & Creative Producer > Freelance video editor, motion designer and creative producer, working remote-first across Europe (based in southern Germany, CET). Focus: short-form video in native 9:16 for Meta and TikTok, hook-first editing, UGC, VSLs and hook variants built for A/B testing, combined with an AI-assisted production pipeline. 7+ years of high-end post-production. Working languages: English, French, German. Available now, fully remote. ## Positioning - Native 9:16 from the first idea, not a 16:9 crop applied afterwards. - Hook-first: the opening three seconds dictate structure, cutting rhythm and on-screen text. - High cadence: hook, voice-over and CTA variants in days rather than weeks. - Generative AI for scenes, characters and photoreal product worlds, the alternative when time or budget rules out a live shoot. - Also conventional, with no AI at all: live-action footage, grading, sound design, 3D product video in Blender. ## Tools - Post-production: DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, CapCut - 3D & graphics: Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma - Generative AI (used daily): Kling, Runway, Veo, Higgsfield, Nano Banana, HeyGen, ElevenLabs, Midjourney ## Selected work - [KVN Design × Matsu · collab teaser](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVbCYvyYn-w) · A complete teaser with no shoot day: prompt concept, style consistency across every shot, editing, motion design and sound from one pair of hands. - [La Maison du Savon de Marseille · Lait Démaquillant](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0Hp7nQIVQo) · A campaign film built on generative AI and 3D renders: warm tones, cinematic feel, grade and mix in DaVinci Resolve. - [Formcase · stylus in 3D close-up](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJN1qw-Ns4g) · Full 3D production in Blender, from scene build to master: dynamic camera moves and feature callouts that land the USPs in seconds. - [Autoko · character spot in a Pixar look](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPrJHxdaZ0w) · Consistent characters across the whole spot, exactly where generative models usually fall apart. Script, storyboard, prompting, edit, sound. - [VociApp · a spot with no shoot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPDEgU5qMd8) · Photoreal scenes with no shoot day and no location budget: prompting, character storytelling, editing and sound design. - [Formcase · UV steriliser in dark light](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR8jm6c75WE) · Atmospheric lighting on glass and metal: precise 3D shaders in Blender, fine cut and sound design for web and trade shows. - [Heike Meier · brand film, fully AI-made](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpkdYuZVgmg) · Calm camera work, coherent colour, a precise fine cut. Imagery and scenes generated end to end, edit and sound from one hand. ## Case studies (brief, approach, execution) - [KVN Design × Matsu · collab teaser](https://hervetailliez.de/en/cases/kvn-matsu-ki-teaser.html), Two brands, one shared appearance, no production budget for a set. The teaser is built entirely generatively and still has to look like it came out of a camera. - [La Maison du Savon de Marseille · Lait Démaquillant](https://hervetailliez.de/en/cases/la-maison-du-savon-kampagnenfilm.html), Skin, texture, liquid, warm light: the subjects where generative models look fake fastest, and exactly the category where image quality decides everything. - [Formcase · stylus in 3D close-up](https://hervetailliez.de/en/cases/formcase-stylus-3d-produktvideo.html), A digital stylus has to explain its advantages in a few seconds. The product is small, glossy and full of detail. - [VociApp · a spot with no shoot](https://hervetailliez.de/en/cases/vociapp-ki-spot-ohne-dreh.html), An app spot needs people you believe in. Cast, location and a shoot day weren't in the budget; photoreal generative scenes were. - [Finanzlegenden · advice as a short](https://hervetailliez.de/en/cases/finanzlegenden-vertikaler-short.html), Financial advice has no imagery of its own. The short still has to work in the feed, and for most viewers with the sound off. - [Xclusive Body Fit · cut to the beat](https://hervetailliez.de/en/cases/xclusive-body-fit-schnitt-auf-den-beat.html), Gym footage starts looking like every other gym video very quickly. What makes the difference is rhythm, and that only happens in post. ## Questions employers actually ask - **Are you looking for a permanent role, or do you freelance?** Either works. I'm open to a full-time permanent role, to part-time, to project work on a freelance basis, and explicitly to the route that works most often in practice: run one project together as a freelancer, and if it fits, move into a permanent role. What matters to me is a long-term role in short-form and social video, not the biggest possible title. - **Do you work remotely or on site?** I work 100 % remotely and the process is well drilled: clear briefings, clean file handovers, feedback given on the cut itself rather than in long meetings. I'm based in southern Germany on Central European Time, so I overlap with a full European working day. - **What languages do you work in?** French is my mother tongue and my English is fluent, briefings, feedback rounds and day-to-day team work all run in English without friction. I also speak German at B2 level. Three languages, one editor. - **Isn't AI about to replace exactly what you do?** AI produces material, not videos. A model gives you shots; the selection, the rhythm, the dramatic build, the consistency across a whole film, the grade and the sound still happen in the edit. And that is precisely where purely generative results fall down: characters drift, the look jumps, the rhythm is off. AI hasn't made my work redundant, it has moved it, away from waiting for shoot days, towards selection, direction and quality control. - **Can you work without AI?** Yes · that's the foundation, not the exception. More than seven years of conventional post: cutting live-action footage, building brand films, grading in DaVinci Resolve, mixing sound, building 3D product films in Blender. Someone who can only prompt won't notice when a cut doesn't land. - **How much experience do you have with KPIs and performance?** I build videos towards numbers, not just towards looking good: the hook in the first seconds, cutting rhythm tuned to watch time, on-screen text for silent playback, a clear path to the CTA. That includes variants for A/B tests and sharpening things up against retention curves rather than taste.
